„Patara (Turkish: Patara, Lycian: 𐊓𐊗𐊗𐊀𐊕𐊀, Pttara; Greek: Πάταρα) was an ancient and flourishing maritime and commercial city that was for a period the capital of Lycia.
The site is located on the Turkish coast near to the village of Gelemiş, in Antalya Province.
It has one of the most beautiful beaches in Türkiye, 18km and totally unspoilt. The sand is almost white, the water crystal clear and unlike much of the Mediterranean, has a tide that allows body surfing.
The beach is a nesting place for loggerhead turtles (caretta-caretta) and the dunes and lake behind, a protected area for rare birds.“
